Here are some rubber Slurfies characters that I recently got. They have little friction motors underneath them. Pretty cool. Scary Scooters by Astronit, on Flickr I have another set still on the blister cards for sale or trade.

Scary Scooters by Astronit, on Flickr I have another set still on the blister cards for sale or trade. YES!! And I was just trying to describe these guys in another thread! (Something about fluffies with pig snouts.) The ones I had all came from gumball machines and baggies among the grocery store rack toys. In the early 80s I would see them packaged like green army men, in a clear plastic bag with a header card. I remember in particular seeing bags of 50 or so for around $4, which was a decent chunk of cash for me back then. The ones that I got from those bags and from the quarter machines were made of a more rigid material, not jiggly like the earlier versions, and not all sculpts were available.

Man, I'd love some Slurries. Can't believe I'm just now noticing the 'Creepy Creatures' bags....I must have opened ten of those! Circa early-80s, they were a whopping few dollars a bag at the grocery! Seeing the ORIGINAL versions, those Creepy Creatures I owned look a bit ruddy.... You have a gorgeous collection, Spacefarm!

This is on Ebay now. I've never seen a Slurfie with such long legs. Many knock-offs and copies made over the years. Never as good of quality as the original runs.

Any idea why they kept copying them? Why didn't they just make their own new monsters?

Some manufacturing industries (Countries) are not as original or creative as we are in the USA. Besides, you cut out design costs if you copy other successful ideas.
