So I've gotten uglies from several different places/people... some of them have some kind of black stuff on them. It usually comes off when cleaned but I find it weird that alot of my uglies had it. Any ideas what causes this? I'm just curious...

Is it an oily or dry powder-like substance and have you noticed any rubber break-down or melting in spots after cleaning?

It kinda peels away. No damage left behind.its kinda like a thin piece of black hard rubber. But sometimes it doesn't come off cause I don't wanna tear up my ugly trying to clean it. My first thought was residue from another melted toy.

No, I have not encountered anything like that.

Weird. Look at the picture I posted in the Iris thread.. you can see a black spot on the arm of my Iris but then I noticed that the picture that JP1000 posted had black stuff in the hair of their Iris too!

It appears to be paint. Maybe the eyeball paint wasn't completely dry when they were packaged and some rubbed off.
