I'm a long time monster collector and am happy that there are more people who care about such things. I hope to post a couple photos of my collection soon. Also, I recently took a vulcanization class so I'm planning to create some ugly molds.

Hi Astronit, thanks for noticing my avatar! I made it based on my favorite Diener eraser monster. I have a pink one which I called "Crazy Harry". I noticed that you have a blue one in your collection. So cool, especially as he has all his limbs. My cousin "accidentally" tore off my Crazy Harry's legs which was very sad but my brother made him a wheelchair out of Lego. Do you know any more of the history of this monster? My brother found a bigger version and gave him to me for my birthday last year which was the best present ever

Hope you can find another to add to your collection. 1960's diener rubber monster jigglers ad by Astronit, on Flickr

So cool to see the artwork. Yeah, I got mine in a Cleveland mall in the 80's. I had no idea I'd still be obsessed with him 30+ years later.

I would like to know what other people called these monsters when they were younger. I had an entire world based on them. I gave them all their own names in that world because I didn't have any of the marketing materials that came with them.
So Jiggle-Lo = Crazy Harry
Shaky = Samantha
I called rubber uglies "Gneeps" because they lived beneath things.
What did everyone else call their monsters back when you were innocent and had your own world?

"Gneeps", that's sooo cool.
My friends and I called many of the mid-1970's figures "Brabos"

Interesting. Do you know where that name came from? My brother and I definitely categorized them into different species. We called Slurfies "Snozzle Noses".
Shaky was a Buggawad but they all had different first names.

Yes, "BRABO" was a maker mark that was printed on the Kooky Spooky figures. We didn't know any better so we just started calling any and all rubber toys "Brabos"
My mother gave me a package of "Slurfies" around 1973 when I was sick. Since I got them in a package I've always remembered their series name. I never named any single one differently.

A package of 1973 Slurfies while sick sounds like the best comfort food I remember losing one of my Slurfies in the grass and looking for him for hours and never finding him. Maybe there should be a section on here for monster memories
