To me the Slurfies are old friends, they give a warm and comforting feeling each time I hold them or (even still) bring them out for play. That is because I received my set of Slurfies from my mother in 1971 when I was very seriously ill. They are dear friends to me.
But that may not help you to recognize what a Slurfie is. There are only eight differnt Slurfies and they were sold on blister cards, four to a card. Slurfies all have long snouts like an elephant and a long tail. What distinguishes each Slurfie is its body shape and legs. They are truly unique in the Rubber Ugly universe of creatures. When I get more familiar with using this forum I'll share some pictures of my set.
Slurfies were copied over and over by different companies. In my opinion all copies are inferior, some are down right crappy. In fact you can probably find the worst of these copies still being manufactured today. The most recent variation of Slurfies are flat, 2-dimensional and very thin ghosts of the original Slurfie figures.
If you collect Rubber Ugly creatures you'll know what I mean about the way in which the Slurfies stand out. There just different in a fascinating and pleasing way.
