Which original purebred rubber ugly do you find that is the hardest to find? I would have to say it's Albert. I remember awhile back a collector from Argentina had one on ebay for a buy it now for $160.00. Ouch! Which one do you think is the most rare? Dave.

Without a shadow of a doubt the rarest purebred is Carl.

There is one on now in ebay. Good seller I have bought from him before. I have several if anyone needs one. I think the hardest jigglier to find is the one in the likeness of Colossus Rex Colorforms Alien.

I have neither Carl or Albert but would like to include them in my collection. There are lots I don't have but want. I am actively looking for many different pieces, variations and colors of Rubber Ugly Monsters. They are out there, I just haven't gotten them all yet.

Whoever has the CARL rubber ugly are you interested in selling? If so, what are asking? Out of the two known, I own the intact darker green Carl with red paint pictured on the right. I purchased it in a Jigglers lot that came from the east coast, USA. The Carl on the left is owned by a collector that still has it from his childhood, and he's located in the UK. This means that Carl was definitely distributed worldwide for the very first production run. As you may know, Carl is from Basil Wolverton art and is the only purebred that wasn't designed by Norman Saunders. Being the Holy Grail of Rubber Ugly collecting, I'm not exactly interested in parting with it right now. I don't even know what kind of price range one would put this in. I just noticed that the official Norman Saunders website now features the image of my Ugly! They even corrected the low brightness from my photo that was taken in poor lighting: www.normansaunders.com/RUgly,01.html

Yes, I was the one who sent the picture of "Carl" to Dave Saunders and his father's website. He thought the new find was awesome also! Glad he posted the pic. Man, I'd love to get a hold of this one!

No question that Carl is the king of uglies as far as being the rarest of rare but check out these pictures of a Ralph I just acquired! He is marked MADE IN HONG KONG with very soft rubber and his color is what really kicks it in that he is green with red painted highlights exactly like the original card art and he has red painted nostrils and black eyes. The skin under his mouth shows all the bumps and his hands are rounded rather than flat. I have seen Ralph before (not very often) but not with this color combination. I am posting pictures for others to see and enjoy. Thanks. monsterman1962 Attachments:
