I know Albert is pretty tough to find but does anyone have an Albert they'd be willing to part with? (As in "sell"! I wouldn't ask anyone to give their Uglies away! Lol). Color isn't too important but I'd like one free if damage or missing parts if possible. You can send me a PM. Thanks all!

Out of the two known, I own the intact darker green Carl with red paint pictured on the right. I purchased it in a Jigglers lot that came from the east coast, USA.... This means that Carl was definitely distributed worldwide for the very first production run. As you may know, Carl is from Basil Wolverton art and is the only purebred that wasn't designed by Norman Saunders.... I just noticed that the official Norman Saunders website now features the image of my Ugly! They even corrected the low brightness from my photo that was taken in poor lighting: Read more: rubberuglies.proboards.com/thread/47/toughest-rubber-ugly?page=2#ixzz3QLvuEYXThis image was designed by Basil Wolverton and recreated as a Rubber Ugly, even though Topps agreed to a legal settlement respecting the artist's claim to the copyright. www.normansaunders.com/RUgly,01.html Look at the likeness in this figure. For more pictures of the above Ugly go to this forum thread: rubberuglies.proboards.com/threads/recent/126

Here is the other intact Carl I believe I think there are four known Carl Rubber Ugly in existence but there must be others out there in the wild. One day I expect to have one but I sure won't be paying over $500 like the last one that sold on e-bay. BTW: there have been two Carl's sold on e-bay, one that had the incomplete tongue appendage. Both were also sold out of the United Kingdom.

I would like to amend the above statement - I know of five Rubber Ugly Carl's in members collections. I forgot that our own forum founder " Rubber Ugly" has two of them.
Hope you don't mind me sharing this information. If you do you have the power to delete this post. I miss you man. Attachments:

Most certainly the 'Cat-like' Carl is a later version but when and how does this process change occur? What an amazing deviation from design to mold. I know these were made in Hong Kong where labor is cheep, but the cost to create a production mold for any toy (even in the 1960's) was tens-of-thousands of dollars. [at least for a long-lasting quality mold, which many of these pieces were not expected to meet criteria.]

The guys I got him from said the person HE got him from had purchased him as a kid in the UK. I'm just happy to have one with an intact tongue & nose! :-)

What about Rita! I have yet to find one for sale. Besides a bootleg looking one awhile back!

I suppose Rita is rather difficult to find (I only have one original) but it does turn up.
