just scored a P.V.C. Animals James in some random lot of vintage rubber rats! He's missing a tentacle and has some wear, but who cares? ...and for the love of all that's holy, I beg you guys to stop opening & removing these vintage beauties from their original packaging! Attachments:

Here are my original soft rubber P.V.C. Animals. I'm missing the soft rubber versions of Big-nosed Octopus guy, and the Florence with the Kaijusaur tail ( I do own them in the later harder-rubber form). Are there any others that I'm missing from the soft-rubber set?

So how many are in the harder rubber PVC series? Is this nearly the entire set? (Besides the 4 I have here, I believe there is also a 2-legged twisty body guy that vaguely seems to be a take-off of Iris, similar to the one in RubberUgly's pic above but with two legs rather than the suction cup). I believe there's 6 in the full-size yellow harder rubber series. The two you have missing are the Iris bodied monster with legs that you mentioned, and a James with 6 spiky tentacles. I've seen about 4 of the 6 in a mini version, so I presume that all 6 were probably available in the mini set.

Thanks RU.....I thought that there was a James-alike figure in the series but wasn't sure!
I have the Iris-guy on the way.....hunting for a James-esque guy now!

Awesome, may I ask where you found the Iris-guy with legs? It's pretty hard to find, do you know if it's the mini or full-size version? As far as the minis go, I'm positive that I've yet to see the harder yellow-rubber mini James creature.

I was crazy lucky and scored 5 vending cards (at a hefty price). The James is shown on each of them. All the figures are Full-size, I believe? Gotta' dig the unusual bold red paintjob done on the figures shown on the bottom-right card in this first pic. Is it just me or is the James offered in both a 6 & 7 tentacle variation judging from the above photos? Maybe it's a mix & match of full/mini? The Full size octopus guy with a big nose will have 7 tentacles, and the mini always has 8. Also all of the toys are certainly very uncommon or rare. For example, the Florence monster is very hard to find, yet she's probably been the most common to pop up on eBay as of late. Just dumb luck, I guess. (The odds are probably 1/6 afterall, but the true rarity will depend on whatever was shoved inside the vending capsules)

>>Awesome, may I ask where you found the Iris-guy with legs? It's pretty hard to find, do you know if it's the mini or full-size version?<< Sure. I got it from a fella who goes by the name of Boo on eBay. He had a nice lot of Uglies he just sold yesterday for a shade over $100 I think. I got my Albert from him a bit ago and he happened to mention he had some other stuff and one of them was the hard rubber Two Legged Twisty Guy. He arrived today in fact. I believe he's the full sized version, he's about 3 inches tall

@jp1000 Nice, I've bought from that Boo fella too. Well, my cards arrived in the mail and the seller included a 6th card missing the shrinkwrap as a bonus! Sorry for the dim lighting and unfortunately this is a JPEG because I don't know how to properly save and convert my raw files. Please click on the image below to view the JPEG in full size:

I never knew that those late-gen red Uglies had gold paint on them, the gold and black paint on the red bodies really gives them a perfect Thai-food restaurant theme (I think I'm just hungry right now). Also to my surprise, everything is fairly jiggly and not hard rubber including the later-gen yellow PVC Animals. Maybe something about the 80s toys dries out over time and makes them harder?

Those "Creatures from the Stars" are totally awesome. What a great collection. Have you plans to mount or frame them for display?
