Hello, Everybody. My name is Cheaptoyman and I run Cheaptoyland.com...we specialize in monochromatic mini-figures and odd novelty toys, etc. We love the Rubber Uglies Forum you started and want to stay in touch. We often score Rubber Uglies, misc. jigglers, bootlegs, etc. in our lots of mixed novelty figures from the 70s and 80s. I'm not an expert on Uglies and Jigglers but I'd love to learn more. There also appears to be lots of issues and bootlegs in foreign countries and most of the time these are covered in dust and just sit at the bottom of some of our lots. I'm not sure if some collectors in our realm really realize the value of some of these. I remember the Uglies, Jigglers and Moon Patrol type figures when I was a kid. They had a neat smell, and I remember the somewhat oily consistency of some of them. Overall, they were cool and I didn't learn about the Topps backstory until years and years later. Hello & welcome to the forum! I think most of us have a uniform love for all old toys. Even I have a soft spot for MUSCLE & Cheap Toys. Speaking of Cheap Toys, I just heard about the new Adam Bomb & Friends mini-kins. The mono-parallels look cool. While I'd personally prefer full-sized cheap toys with some super rare 1of50 (or even 1of1) chase parallels as opposed to the best being just 1:12, but I"m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth & I look forward to completing a neon yellow set. Likewise, I'd be tickled to death if Topps released Ugly Stickers Mini-kins. |

Thanks! Appreciate such a warm welcome. Yes, Topps just made that announcement regarding the Adam Bomb and Friends MiniKins. We had started a petition and had been pressuring them for years. With Trash Pack (by Moose Enterprises) taking off, it only made sense that Topps got back into the game. Topps started it all with the "gross character" bit and YES, I would love it if they'd issue the Uglies as MiniKins (with chase monos and all) just like the Garbage Pail Kids. It would also be cool if Topps reissued the classic Uglies in Chrome...Have they thought about that? Do we need to start that petition, too? Hopefully, some "super rares" will develop within the MiniKin line...and hopefully, it will open up the doors for Topps to issue more cool figures...and we still don't know 13 characters of the 1st Series MiniKins. So, that will be a wonderful surprise come October. Hi again, there actually is a small petition to reissue an Ugly Stickers heritage set like Mars attacks, but Chrome would be much cooler! I know a lot of folks do not look forward to GPK Chrome, but I think it's much more exciting than BNS1 or 2. Not only is the SuperFractor a wonderful addition to GPK, but it will also be nice collecting a GPK set in which the base cards aren't monetarily worthless. I'd rather get 4 nice chrome cards in a pack than 7-9 junk base cards and a single parallel to set aside in the "nice pile". If you wish to start an Ugly Stickers Chrome/Mini-kins petition, I will sign immediately and let all of my friends know. Hello and Welcome - sorry I am late getting back to the forum. Always good to meet other collectors and people whose memory enjoys a trip back to simpler days. The Rubber toy collecting and identification is pretty niche. I was thrilled when RU began this forum and have enjoyed it immensely.
