Hi! I just found this board and it is awesome. I just purchased a box of plastic animals and other small figures from a garage sale a couple weeks ago for $5. There are about a dozen or so of Rubber Uglies and Slurfies in there. But, the figures (plastic and rubber) are prett dirty. I've been using warm soapy water and a Magic Eraser on the plastic figures, but, I'm hesitant on how best to clean the Rubber Uglies. So, what is the best way to clean them of the dirt? Thanks, Scott

My standard method is to use hot soapy water (dish soap) also. I let them soak for 10 to 30 min and gently scrub with a used soft tooth brush. Never had any problems that way and the figures come out clean and shinny.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a shot tonight and let you know how it goes. I'm thinking some before and after pictures might be in order as well.

Well, for the most part, they came out pretty good. Some are gonna require some future cleanings. I'll post the before and after pictures in a separate thread.

I usually place a single "dusty" jiggler flat in the palm of my hand and shake it vigorously under a stream of warm/hot water. If the toy is very dirty, I clean the difficult to reach areas with a damp Q-Tip and then gently massage the entire toy with dish soap and repeat the above first process. I always let them air-dry on tissue paper or paper towels. I've never had any problems with paint loss or damage with the above methods.
