Okay, I have a basic question about Iris (not the dangling eyeball one now known as Joel, but the hairy one!). I have seen her(?) in two forms. I assume her face is facing you when the two antennae and arms are out to the sides (basic, huh?). Well, I have seen this figure, when facing you, with one eye, like a cyclops (no idea what the other side of her head looks like), and no mouth or anything else.
But, I have also seen this figure, when the antennae and arms are out to the side, with an eye on each side of her head, and the face has a mouth and what looks like a nose.
Are these just two variations of the same figure? Like I said, the assumption is when antennae are out to the sides, she is facing you. But it's odd that in some figures there is an eye on each side of her head & a mouth & nose in front, and on other examples the front of her face just has this one huge eye (the same type that are on the SIDES of the head of the other version).
Can anyone shed a bit of light on this? I know a pic would have made this MUCH simplier, and if need be I can post a pic of each version and you guys can take it from there!
many thanks, Jeff

Jeff, I have four versions - three are one-eyed like the Ugly Sticker.Iris (variants) by AstronitThe backside of the above creatures is mirror of the front, single eye. The two-eyed version, below, came from a series called " Horrible Reptiles." Horrible Reptile by AstronitHope that helps clear up your questions about Iris.

The eyes are both just like the eyes found on the "one-eyed" Iris, but they are on the sides rather than the front & back, and you can see a mouth & nose on the "face". The arms are also a bit lower on the twisty body than the "cyclops" Iris. I'm looking forward to seeing this other version.

Absolutely, just as soon as one I purchased a few days ago (a typical "cyclops" one) arrives, I want to take a side-by-side comparison pic. The one I have resembles a bit the "Horrible Reptiles" one you posted....same high arms and eyes on side of head. But mine is much less colorful, and just has that "old" look to it (but it's in really great shape).

Here are the two versions of Iris I have. The one on the right is the "regular" one, the one on the left is different. It sorta looks like one of the "Horrible Reptiles" versions but then again sort of doesn't. At least, it's sure not colorful, and I always thought the "Horrible Reptiles" ones were a bit smaller and thinner rubber than the Uglies. This one seems the same size and density as the regular Iris. Note the eyes on the sides of the head rather than the single eye in front (and back!), and the prominent mouth. Anyone seen one like this before? I'd be interested in knowing exactly what it is. Thanks all!!

Yes, looks exactly like the "Horrible Reptiles" figure except for the muted color. Thanks for posting the picture.

This conversation motivated me to take some new pictures of the Rubber Ugly collection today. Particularly because I also just picked up the red-eye version. So, here are some of my Iris pieces. Astronit's Iris CollectionHope you like them.

Anyone know which came first? The Iris with the antennas up or down?

Anyone know which came first? The Iris with the antennas up or down? Certainly the Iris figures with the hair to the sides, like the red eye one in the previous picture, is the earliest version.
