I can honestly say that my admiration for the original Rubber Uglies is as strong as any of the members within this forum but when I was collecting uglies as a kid I also loved these other jigglers, some oily and others that hung from a string. I wanted to share some picks of those because they too dominated my monster collecting fervor growing up in the mid sixties and early seventies. I hope others enjoy and post comments if they too liked these offbeat creatures! Attachments:

Hi friends, in light of the recent Flickr website downgrade update, I have deleted my account over there and will be seeking greener pastures elsewhere in which to host my future Rubber Ugly photos.
For the time being, my apologies for all of the broken image links in my posts on this forum.

Hey RU, I understand, FLICK'R didn't make many users happy with the unannounced changes. One of the reasons I didn't 'kill' my account was because of the images that I have linked to this forum. The missing picture images that are shown really put-off persons looking for information. I respect your right to protest Flickr's dumb move but it hurts this forum. Please, either delete your postings with linked Flick'r pictures or reattach your photos from a new site. Respectfully, Astronit

I figured with the beautiful summer sun out, I would reshoot my updated collection in it's entirety with a lower ISO setting and kill 2 birds with one stone by leaving this "new" Flickr at the same time. I think I'm going to give IPernity a try, since it looks very similar to the old Flickr. However, I wish I would have noticed their convenient Flickr transfer service before I deleted my account. www.ipernity.com/apps/gmHere's to hopefully a fresh start! www.ipernity.com/group/325343

Okay, I'll join you there but I'll keep my photos on Flick'r awhile longer so as not to disrupt the forum here.

I really love this ugly because he reminds me of a comic book character named "Groot" who is a current member of the Guardians Of The Galaxy which is Marvel Comics/Disney's next big movie due to come out late summer 2014. If any of you uglies collectors also appreciate comics, Groot first appeared in Tales To Astonish #13 way back in 1960 before Marvel had super heroes. I know this ugly is not Groot but some similarities do present themselves because Groot is a tree creature from planet X. The story was reprinted in Where Monsters Dwell #6 in 1970 as well, drawn by the great one, Jack Kirby. Sorry for the long winded lecture but I wanted to pass this on. Please enjoy my 2 little tree guys who some have said may not be uglies but I beg to differ when examining the rubber, paint scheme, and all around look and feel this guy sure is a classic ugly in my world. What does that spell? AL !!!!!!!!!!!! Just got a really cool orange Al and when added to my others I could spell his name. I know this is corny but I wanted to share. Al has been near and dear to my heart since my childhood days when these guys first hit the scene. Please forgive my wacky moment and enjoy!!! Attachments:

Very cool idea and wonderful that he's part of a past memory. I have a memory of my AL too, from 1972, playing with him on the trampoline and side of my friend's house in the sand. I still have that AL and this is he.... {yeah, I know it's one of the gumball vending Uglies, but it's still AL] Attachments:
