<<It's a later Gen Joel for sure, but I don't know the exact series either. I got mine in a random lot. That Joel you have in the center is pretty cool, I've never seen a later issue with the dual eyestock.>>
Yes that is what I thought as well. In fact, I thought he was totally an early version when I first saw him, there w no other Uglies in the pic to do a size comparison. It wasn't till I got him home that I noticed he was slightly smaller than my first (or second) gen Joel.
But I really do like his colors though.

Yes I am starting to warm up to the PVC critters also. They kinda look like fancier versions of the original uglies! Are there also mini versions of some of the uglies? This Sandy doesn't really look link one of the PVC critters even though it's got the three "tails". It's quite a bit smaller than the Ugly Sandy, but feels like its made of that sorta hard rubber like the PVS guys. So were the Horrible Reptiles series just re-vamped Ugly figures (with a few subtle changes)? I notice that the Don figure I have seems to be quite a bit flimsier that the true Uglies (you lift him & his legs droop and he feels kinda mushy) while you hold, say, Joel or Florence up and their legs stay staight out still. My Paul ais the sameway, and with her resemblence to Joel, would she be a Horrible Reptiles animal as well, a sorta "Joel knockoff", like Don seems almost a "Florence knockoff"? There are definitely multiple series of mini uglies out there. I figure they were all sold out of gumball machines (even though full sized uglies were also sold in gumball machines as well early on). In post #32 of this thread I have some smaller examples shown, and in the Original Uglies thread I have a pic of my Arties including a mini green Artie. I also have a vending card with a mini Dorothy, and a card with a mini James. Horrible Reptiles are probably the most recent reissue. They were sold retail on card, through vending machines & were even sold via a mail order catalog dated as recent as 1996. There is a newer looking Don with lots of paint details and an older looking one, but they were both sold in the Horrible Reptiles line. I do not know why an older Don was included in the same set with a newer looking one, was probably just extra old-stock and tossed in with the set. Your Don is the older one, and I feel it's safe to assume that he originally came from another series. Paula is a knockoff Joel, and the same as Don there is a newer detailed Horrible Reptiles version and older version that pre-dates Horrible reptiles. Unlike Don, the older Paula was not sold alongside the newer Paula.

Here is a cool Kenneth variation I picked up the other day. I really like this little guy. He is almost the same size as a regular Ken but not as thick, more of a rounded upper lip, and little circles all over his body. Ken was a favorite mold for me when I was young. Just wanted to share his picture and wish everyone on the board a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year! Attachments:

Here is a few I added recently. I got the Alvin on the bay and although it's one of my favorites in my collection, unfortunately, I can't completely get rid of the cigarette smell. The yellow Iris/ Joel was pricey but worth it. A first generation with the 2 eye stalks. Dave.

Not a problem and nice grabs Gary. It's nice to see people posting as it has been pretty dormant lately. Dave.

Thanks! I've been picking them one by one! Hoping to end up with a whole set (or at least close)! The question is who will I get next? LOL

Thanks! I've been picking them one by one! Hoping to end up with a whole set (or at least close)! The question is who will I get next? LOL Nobody I know understands what a 'whole set" OF Rubber Uglies are. If you indeed embarck on a mission to collect these toys you will never achieve the end. That in itself is a perfect reason to attempt the goal of collecting a complete set. Bon-Voyage into the Uglness path that is set before you.

Here are 3 new additions to my collection. The Dorothy is brand new to me the Al and Alvin I have had for a while but these are the only ones I have acquired this year. Most of what you see on eBay are cheap knock offs or lesser generations. Have not seen many 1st Gen quality pieces in a while. That being said I love these new guys though! Please enjoy the pic!
